As many fellow organisations in Brussels, EBC has signed a partnership agreement with the European Parliament (EP) to promote the #UseYourVote campaign and the Together.eu initiative in the context of European democratic exercise around the corner. The campaign involves public and private stakeholders to raise awareness on the importance of voting in the European elections taking place from 6 to9 June 2024 across the European Union.
Over the past few months, the dedicated website elections.europe.eu, available in all EU languages, has centralised all relevant information. There you can find also a series of inspirational videos of the #UseYourVote campaign, including a short documentary “Use your vote or others will decide for you” reminding why the EU is unique and its ideals around peace and democracy are fundamental.
One of the key targets is youth, to showcase to them the importance of democracy and why voting is important, in light of the historic decision to allow 16 years old to vote in certain Member States.
The website also makes available the results of the EP Spring Eurobarometer survey. This tool shares an assessment on the state of public opinion ahead of the elections, as part of the joint effort to motivate European citizens to exercise their democratic right to vote.
EBC will use its vote. This is why we have been promoting the EP campaign to our members, network and partners. Through this collaboration with the European Parliament, EBC aims to help create a stronger, more informed, participatory, and representative democracy in the EU.
